May is National Scrapbooking month!

This month, Close to my Heart has been offering a special paper pack and accompanying stamp set to celebrate National Scrapbooking month.  The theme of the paper pack and stamp set is "Taste of Summer".

The Taste of Summer paper pack has stunning, bright papers, with bold fruit patterns on one side and full colours on the other side.  The Taste of Summer stamp set includes fruit and sentiments.  The strawberry is so cute!

Above is one of the pages I have creative using Taste of Summer.  It was inspired by a layout by Brenda Rose as well as Layout Pattern #6 from the "Make it from your heart" Volume 1 book.

My heading was stamped using my favourite letter stamp set Handwritten Print.  One of things I love about this stamp is that there is no need to line up the letters exactly!

The fruit were stamped using the cute Taste of Summer Stamp Set, and fussy cut using the Non-stick Micro tip Scissors.  To give the page some dimension, I have raised the fruit up using 3D Foam Tape.

Rock 'n' Roll Technique
To get the two colour effect on the lemon/lime stamp, I used the "Rock 'n' Roll" technique.  Initially, the stamp was inked using the Honey stamp pad then I "rolled" the edge of the stamp on the Pear Stamp Pad so that only the very edge of the lemon/lime was inked in the pear green.
This is a great technique that can be used on so many different stamps to create some amazing stamped images.

The Taste of Summer paper and stamp set are only available this month, so get in quick!  To see more of the great products from Close To My Heart, please visit my website,  wendywatson.ctmh.com.au

May Stamp of the Month Blog Hop!

Welcome to our very first team Blog Hop!    This is both a scary and exciting time for me.  I hope you enjoy the regular Blog Hops that we will present to you.

A "Blog Hop" is a circular link between a group of bloggers (in this case my fellow CTMH consultant team members).  No matter where you start, you can view all our blogs in this blog hop.  If you have come from Michelle's Blog Michelle K Scraps, then you are on the right path, and at the end of my blog will be a link to the next consultant's blog in our group.  For a complete list of the blogs in this blog hop, click here.

This month our Blog Hop is showcasing the Stamp of the Month for May called "Just sayin' ".   Here is the card I have created using this stamp set.

These 14 stamps make up the "Just sayin' " May SOTM stamp set.   Great value and a really versatile stamp set, for only $5 with any order of $75 or more.

The details of my card are as follows:
The background cardstock is Flaxen and has been dry embossed using the Dot embossing folder.

The pennant banner was stamped on white cardstock using Glacier, Slate, Honey, Sunset and Sweet Leaf  ink.  The individual pennants are then attached to a length of Slate Diagonal Striped Ribbon.

The "Just sayin' " sentiment has also been stamped on white cardstock using Sunset ink and was mounted on two strips also stamped using the May SOTM stamp set.

This is a fun card that could be used for male or female, young or old.

Thanks so much for taking the time to visit my blog.  I hope you will continue to pop in and see what I am creating.  If you want to view more of the Close To My Heart products, just go to my website www.wendywatson.ctmh.com.au.  Remember that the "Just sayin' " stamp set is only available for the month of May.
